FOUND: Large fish, evidently dropped from the sky by a large bird, maybe an eagle or an osprey. Is it a warning? An omen of impending doom? Last week Mr. Hunting Creek found a squirrel tail - the tail ONLY- on the sidewalk when he went to get the mail. Is someone trying to tell us something? Or, to paraphrase Freud, "Sometimes a fish is just a fish."

Did you know that mountain lakes are stocked by tanker planes? And that an 80% survival rate is par for fish being dropped out of a plane?
I watched a truck tanker release fish in a Sierra lake once and the driver said that the fish are sedated before being placed in the tankers (both truck and plane). That slows their breathing enough so that they don't run out of oxygen while in the tank. They also don't panic.
definitely a predator. A few years ago, a bobcat screamed outside our house...I thought all of us, dogs included, would die of fright.
